Plan a composition with loose pieces

Draw a light outline on scrap paper at the intended size. Arrange loose sample shapes within it before committing to a final backing.

Look at the balance of filled and empty areas. Move one group at a time and photograph arrangements worth comparing.

Once the plan is settled, record the paper colors and approximate quantities. A simple materials list helps you continue the project consistently after a break.
